Do You Know Curtis Baum?

Do you know Curtis Baum? Come inside for an introduction.

Today we take a look at Curtis Baum. He is easily the most prolific writer among the D3 Adventurers and it has earned him the title of Senior Line Developer. He has the helm on four product lines (Adventure!, Extras!, Romp!,  and Tangent!) with a fifth (Rcane’s Guides that are Pathfinder compatible and 5th Edition) on the way.

Curtis has been playing various role-playing games since he was a child. Initially starting with Dungeons and Dragons (boxed set), he quickly diversified to several different game systems.

His first published work was an internet fan collection which dated back to at least 1996, The Gallery of Magical Blades, where he contributed a holy sword. Since then, he has been a contributing author, author, and editor on over a dozen projects, most within the last 5 years. His list of credits is rather extensive, even before he started with D3 Adventures.

Today, he works from home and teaches his two daughters the fine art of gaming. He games an average of twice per week, including online. He currently plays Pathfinder, Shadowrun, and Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition. He organizes table-top gaming at Salt Lake Gaming Con, Salt Lake Fan X, and Salt Lake Comic Con in Utah, and attends several others.  He is always looking for a good game. His older daughter (Jean, and our next featured D3 Adventurer) is learning to drive, and going to community college full time. She is a GM in Pathfinder Society. His younger daughter just started learning to code HTML and CSS as a summer project. But she is really a ranger at heart with a great love for rabbits and cats.

Be sure to join us next Monday when we learn more about fledgling author; Jean Baum.

Do You Know Christi Baum?

Do you know Christi Baum? Come inside for an introduction.

Christi has had a long journey into the game industry and nerd-dom in general. Her launching off point for tabletop games happened in 1992 when she was introduced by her future husband, one Curtis Baum, more about him later. The duo traveled together through the realms that had been Forgotten, the world of the Dragonlance as well as long sessions Everquesting together. Now Christi works alongside Curtis as editor and layout artist and when not fixing Curtis’ grammar, she’s maintaining this very website and spreading the gospel of D3 Adventures across the social media sphere and making sure that our releases are properly uploaded to the various online stores.

To say that she has become an invaluable asset to the team would be an understatement.

Christi’s editorial and layout work can be seen throughout the Adventure!, Tangent!, Extras!, and Romp! product lines. In addition, she is currently working on the layout for the upcoming release of the PoD version of Quantum Collapse.

Be sure to join us next Monday when we learn more about our Senior Line Developer; Curtis Baum.

My Fellow Adventurers

dapper kobold by Chandra Reyer

dapper kobold by Chandra ReyerMy Fellow Adventurers,

We are gathered here, on this day, to continue an ancient tradition.

Like many before us, we are fated to struggle. Some of our forefathers fought against tyranny and oppression. We continue that cause today. Where they risked their very lives for what they believed in, we rally our friends and gather our dice to continue the cause of justice in the safety of our own imaginations.

Embrace the liberties that have been assured us and gather your family, your friends, your figurines, and your dice to fight the good fight. Rejoice in the freedom to use blade and spell against imaginary foes.

From every die we roll, from every NPC we converse with, from every monster slain, let freedom ring!

Celebrate President’s Day (or Valentine’s Day, Singles Awareness Day) with any of these three modules at 20% off list price.  Only through our partners at Drive Thru RPGBuy it now on DriveThru RPGPresidents

Dapper Kobold, above is a sketch by 2016 Artist, Chandra Reyer.  Prices good through Monday, February 15, 2016.  Please contact us with a comment here if you experience any problems and I’ll be sure to assist!

Weekly Ramble: 2016 Winter Preview for D3 Adventures

Paul CaughellHi Everybody, and welcome to the D3 Adventures 2016 Winter Preview! We have some great products coming out this quarter.

From Curtis Baum’s lines, we have the recently released Extras! product Mythic Giants. In concert with that, Curtis is releasing a giant-themed Tangent! mini-adventure, Temple of the Titan Lord, and Let Sleeping Giants Lie, a full-length giant-themed adventure for Pathfinder. Later in the quarter, Curtis is shifting gears with Extras! Cosmic Criminals, a Mutants and Masterminds collection of villains. This quarter should also see the first release in a new line, Rcane’s Guide to Fantastic Races.

Campaign Toybox has some new releases by Joe Davis being released this quarter to add options for your Pathfinder campaigns.  Look for Encore Performance in February, featuring more masterpieces and spells for Bards including a collection of themed spells for the Lightning Seeker Bard. In March, we’ll have Weaponmaster’s Chakram, a themed collection of fighter-subclass archetypes that uses Chakrams as their primary weapons.

For those that are fans of Mutants & Masterminds, releasing under the Super-Powered by M&M license, Jim Cook is working feverishly to finish the art and layout of our Quantum Collapse setting for the Mutants & Masterminds system, with an eye toward release this quarter.

And finally, the Universal Pool System Players Guide and Campaign Companion books are both being edited and revised.  We’re hopeful they will be ready for release this spring.

Be sure to subscribe there to the left to be kept in the loop, or like us on Facebook!
